PCME is an accredited provider specializing in innovative continuing medical education solutions.
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a potentially-deadly disease in young children and infants at high risk. Despite clear guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics, many children who meet the criteria for RSV prophylaxis are not receiving it. Health-system pharmacists play a key role as preventive health advocates, including making preventive strategies available through formulary decisions, determining the use of those strategies, and educating patients and caregivers.
This webcourse will help to close educational gaps among health-system pharmacists by providing practical information facilitating state-of-the-art care in their hospitals and health systems. The ultimate goal of this activity is to help health-system pharmacists become more aware of the management challenges and prevention strategies available for RSV, and provide the best possible care to their youngest patients.
